I know I’m kinda late here, but actually I watched the flick more than 2 months ago at the Barbican Center when I was in London and coincidentally stumbled over this brilliant documentary. It’s a hilariously funny glance at the graffiti scene with a special focus on the ominous Mr. Brainwash. Any fan of street art should definitely watch this, since Banksy once again strikes with his genius sense for humour and everything else.

Since Apple presented its new product last week, there’s been a lot of hassle about the iPad. Most of the Apple fans don’t really seem to be that interested in the state-of-the-art device though … Some of the reasons are clearly demonstrated on the site posted below:

Oh man, I love his style. Check out the bright, colourful work of Indian Art Director/Illustrator Archan Nair!

Wohoow, look at this madness. It’s all full CG without any live footage support. Just can’t believe it – how many CPU’s must have been killed in this attempt? Watch the beautiful clip ‘The Third & The Seventh‘.

During December I participated in this project of two dear colleagues of studies. The idea was to create one sketch for each day of the advent time. Any techniques were allowed to manifest the creations of our mind.
The modus operandi was to select one term for each day, which would be announced at midnight, to work on it within the next 24h and upload the finished sketch on the ‘Daily Sketch’ blog. An approximate time guideline was 1.5 hours per sketch.
Quite a lot of people joined the project and contributed to the diverse output of artworks.

Nice illustrational stuff by Therese Larsson, who also did some work for the Teamgeist campaign of Adidas. The website for Teamgeist was also nominated site of the month December by FWA and can be voted for as website of the year 2009 before January 13th.
And don’t forget to check out Therese’s portfolio.
Finally I will be able to do some short-distance travel again. New Year’s Eve is gonna be dedicated to some serious Berlin-action!
Hopefully weather let’s me take nice pictures too, so I can update my hibernating Flickr-account. And since it’s the turn of the first decade in the 21st century I will stick to some rational resolutions for the New Year. Here you go with a nice, kinda inspirational idea by Banksy:

Documentary ‘New Brow‘ about underground art wins awards!
The trailer looks very interesting to me and makes me want to watch the full film. Associated artists of the flick’s topic are for example Gary Baseman or Mark Ryden, classic illustrators with their very own style.

Hey folkz, to keep you up to date about myself too – currently I’m studying the MMA Master Degree at the
Now, what does that cryptic sequence of letters stand for? Actually it’s fairly easy. Multi Media Arts is what I do recently.
Since one of the master projects for my studies will be an animated short with VFX I’m putting more research effort into this area than ever before. For one part the project will consist of some serious character animation work – and if you mention character animation you can’t leave out Pixar in the same sentence of course. Thus, if one of the Pixar animators (namely Rodrigo Blaas) takes off some time to create his own piece you can bet to sit on to something. Check out this marvellously animated short ‘Alma‘.
